I shall oppose the spending of money on property which tho city does not own. We should have an understanding as to how the o-vnerehip stands.

Ald. BuAtio—Many ratepayers are not BO favorable to the centre schosls as they are to ward schools.

City Engineer Wilmbt reported on the building of a sidewalk on Stanley avenue. Received and adopted.

Tenders for the fumiabing of police uniforms for the summer were then taken up and opened,

On motion the tenders were subsequently referred to the Police committee and Chief of Pdioe for the awarding of the contract to the lowest tenderer, having in view the quality of goods.

Tenders for tho erection of sanitary buildings wore next opened. They ranged from ?1,0G2.7.'> to .SSoO. Referred to the Market coinmittee, the Building Inspector and the ('Ity Engineer, to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder complying with all I he conditions.
